Master Jaeyong Jeon
Master Jeon is a 6th Dan Black Belt of the World Taekwondo Federation (WTF) and of International Pro-Taekwondo. He is registered at Kukkiwon as an Individual Overseas Member.
Master Jeon's martial arts journey first started at the age of 14, when he began learning both Taekwondo and kickboxing. He studies Taekwondo Coaching Guidance at Donga-A University, South Korea - the birth country of Taekwondo. He also has certificate III in boxing coaching.
Maser Jeon has been teaching Taekwondo and and Kickboxing in Australia for over 15 years.
Achievements:
- Former Korean Champion of Pro Gyuktoogi (Full-Contact Standing Fight) in 1998
- 2x 1st Place at WTF Sparring Tournament, Pusan, South Korea in 1999 and 2000
- 1st Place at Korean National Muay-Thai Tournament in 2000
- Letter of commendation from Kukkiwon 2012 and 2016
- Bronze Medal - 105th National Sports Festival Taekwondo Sparring Competition 2024
Taekwondo athlete Jaeyong Jeon participated in the preliminary match of the 105th National Sports Festival Taekwondo Sparring Competition held on 8th October 2024, easily defeating the Hong Kong representative athlete and advancing to the semi-finals. Although he lost to the Chinese representative athlete in the semi-finals with a penalty point, he achieved a valuable result by bringing home the first bronze medal for the Australian team. Australian national team member Taeho Uhm, the technical committee chairman of the Korea Taekwondo Association in Australia (former Australian Olympic coach) said, “While countries around the world have been preparing experienced athletes in their 20s, Jaeyong’s performance at a fairly old age exceeded exceptions.” He praised Jaeyong highly. Chairman Uhm said, “I would like to congratulate and encourage Jaeyong for winning the Bronze medal without any injuries.” Jaeyong Jeon, now 43, works as an audiometric practitioner and runs a Taekwondo gym in Melbourne.
